Board meeting Thursday June 17th-Important

Please attend the Board meeting this Thursday.
We understand that the Board will be asked to approve replacement of the trash chutes for which we have reserved $360,000. We are not having any problems with the trash chute. Trash chutes are rarely changed, and ours has been trouble free.
A review of a few condos who have changed the chutes show that afterwards there are big problems with noise and smells (Island Colony- big problem). The President has been pushing for this spending and over his objections, the matter was referred to the "building and grounds committee". However, the President created a new committee called the "trash chute committee" consisting of one owner and himself, and it seems that he wants to have a vote Thursday.
Letters have been delivered to the Board Members concerning this topic and the President of the Board notified the sender not to contact the Board with any concerns that he should go through the manager. This notification violates RI bylaws and State Law.
We do not object to necessary changes at RI, but we do object to changes that are not necessary and only occurring because "we have the money"
Please try to attend the meeting so that we can encourage the board to take reasonable care with our funds. The President said at the February meeting that he expects MF to go up about 10% next year and we will have an assessment. Unless we can control the spending, that is what we are looking at.
